I had to remember not to pick up any 'short' sunflower seeds. I did buy some interesting seeds for a poppy in a very interesting shade of blue.

Fizz :-)
They would hate my sandy soil. But maybe I should try growing them anyway, as I love them too.

I tried and failed several times to grow blue poppies at my old Cavern. Planted some alleged blue poppies in pots of ericaceous compost soon after moving here and they didn't take either, but they were part of a consignment from an online plant shop whose other herbaceous plants were also quite feeble.

Sunflowers, though. Must think about sunflowers. Proper ones this year. The dwarf sunflowers did very well, but they were too much leaf and not enough flower.

Would it be simplest for me to just adjust the year in the thread title, rather than starting over?
