My tallest hasn't flowered, but it's not 8 foot. Ho hum! Next year!

Official Closing Date to this is Saturday. It's been a great year - so many massive sunflowers and impressive displays of all sizes. Thanks for playing As usual I will be making a donation to 'The Sunflower Army' also known as Team Ella as I appear to have been roundly beaten by plenty of you teamella.co.uk |

I shall plan to grow some proper big sunflowers next year. It's been years since I've grown anything more complex than alfalfa sprouts from seeds and I've enjoyed the experience. Thank you all for your company My next task is to move the remaining pots of withering sunflowers round the back of the house where the birds feed. |

I must take a picture. But not of the tallest one, which is past. It was never a contender though. Despite that, this year has undoubtedly been my most successful for sunflowers. One thing though - my small supposed multi-headed sunflowers have all turned out as medium single-headed sunflowers.

Dvorak - similar thing here. The runts of my litter were thrown in the rockery in the front garden. They're all as tall as me now and looking quite healthy. |

Excellent...mine flourished early but burnt out...but I did manage to keep them alive. Hubby even liked them, so we'll plant them into the ground next year! (that's saying A LOT!!);)

Here's my losing entries. About 5 foot tall. Tallest was slightly more, but now past. Also, one of my small ones (these other flowers are marigolds, not tiny, tiny sunflowers). |

I really should post a photo of my 8ft sunflower, still waiting for flowers to open on another 2 but they aren’t quite as tall.
