The slimy little bastards had to get over some gravel and up the slippery sides of a dish to get at the first lot. I'm now putting the seedlings so far from any other vegetation that (I hope) a slug would starve to death on the journey.

When I plant them out, there will be a lake of cheap beer and blue slug snacks in the vicinity.

I managed to revive my plants after they nearly died (my black thumb and neglect!) and will transplant them into larger pots this evening.

Slugs only like em when they're young and soft. Once they've been outside a while and hardened off the slugs will leave em alone.

Then you have the caterpillars to contend with :-)

I repotted to bigger pots at the weekend, those that have survived being nibbled. I am down to 6 now.

I'm going away for half of next week so will try to put them in a relatively shady spot with a good drink before I go and hope they survive.

I've got three planted out and doing well. I have 2 Titans and 1 Giraffe. Or 2 Giraffes and 1 Titan. I got them mixed up last year too.

I’ll have to be an unofficial entrant - I’ve no idea when I planted mine! Got about 6 in the ground now and seemingly making reasonable progress.

Oops forgot to water some of the pots over the weekend and lost a couple :-(
Still got 8 left but I need to find a good final spot to plant them out where the deer won't eat them.

My second batch is looking much healthier than my first batch. I need to get them potted on. I'll use papier mache pots so that I can plant then out without disturbing them again.

If I don't have enough, I'll start a third batch when I come back from my hols in a month's time.
