Hi Hodge. I've got the new Dr Michael Mosley one ordered for delivery to my Kindle when it's published on Thursday. Fingers crossed it's OK. Hope your swim went well.

No swim, easy gym instead. Well found the first fasting day easier than expected. Tinned toms and mushrooms for breakfast, salad and a pear for lunch, tuna salad for tea and a banana as a snack. Went over cals though 640, but when i came out the gym i was desprate. Will eat well but healthy tomorrow. Not sure how it will all pan out as the months go on as im training for my first marathon in april, so will have to plan which days to fast carefully. Will take a look at the book soon.

I've just spotted this thread.
My OH has been doing this since seeing the Mosley Horizon programme August last year and has lost 17kg. He has another 15 or 20 to go.
I kept him company on some of his fast days last year. I have a longstanding ambition to lose 5kg so I'm sticking with this properly for the first 6 weeks of this year to see if that helps.
I found that it's not easy to run hard or long early in the day after fasting but if I left it till later it was better. OH doesn't exercise much at all - just some gentle walking and up to 20 mins on a rowing machine (10 mins if it's a fast day).
Good luck everyone - I am a fan of this approach, not least because I've seen it work well with OH.

First fast day is going to be Friday.
I'm doing 4:2 as it fits in with my current shift pattern. Tried everything else so it can't hurt

Hodge if you are going to the gym you are allowed to factor that into your calories. The idea is calorie reduction so if you've burnt 300 cals in the gym you can get away with eating 900cals. I read that from Dr Moseley's twitter.

I made the mistake of getting on the scales. 10st 3/4. Fattest I've ever been apart from when preggers. Not impressed. I want to lose a stone. My happiest weight was just under 9st so that is my aim. Long hard road!
