Full body today, #9 of Iron. Lunges, squats and shoulders, mainly. Felt like hard work but not a favourite session because I hate squats and lunges!

Back and biceps tomorrow - looking forward to that on the basis of Ness's opinion :-)

Back on it today - first session since 21st June thanks to a busy few days at work followed by 10 days of holiday in the Ardennes. Day 13, posterior chain, though her comments about involving the quads were very true for me as they definitely felt the hip thrusts and final squats! Shows some weaknesses to work on I guess. Glad to be back to it, I'd actually missed doing some strength work, plus there's a bit of holiday indulgence to work off I imagine :-)

Hope you enjoyed day 10, sallykate!

sallykate I'm ok at lunges but the amount and variety Caroline demands is certainly challenging. So if you HATE them already.... :-) Has fun with back and biceps - Ness 's session looked well strong to me!

Ten days in the Ardennes sounds just lovely CasB

I decided against day 26 today. It's all legs with step ups, lunges and squats and my legs are too tired to do it justice, as are my arms from yesterday. No point in just podding through it.

Did 40 minutes of fairly challenging yoga instead. Wobbled on the balances .... as I do!

Thank you, Sharkie. For me, I've decided to stick with one of her sessions per week but to really focus on the best form and highest weight possible to make the most of each exercise. I'm enjoying them too, which is a bonus.

That sounds a good idea. I'm not going to do Iron a third time - at least for now. I've only got five more sessions but will pick and choose a bit more after that. At least until September.

I decided on a total rest day today - so will do Iron day 9 tomorrow instead.

The Ardennes were indeed lovely! Highly recommended to anyone who fancies walks/bike rides in forests and along river gorges, and exploring castles on top of hills.

I thought I'd got away quite lightly with day 13 but my glutes have just told me otherwise throughout this evening's run :-) Track session tomorrow and day 14 on Wednesday which ought to finish me off nicely!

About This Thread

Maintained by Sharkie
Caroline Girvan - tiny but tough, sweet but strong.

Here's a thread rather in the manner of the Shred craze that swept Fetchland some years ago, or perhaps more recently (and less bossily) Adriene's 30 Days of Yoga each year. I found Caroline Girvan via geordiegirl (ta, GG!) and am well impressed with her workouts. I'm currently on Day 27 of her 30 day Iron Series and have STUCK TO IT. Wonders will never cease, I was beginning to despair of the likelihood of me getting any sort...
