I'll do the legs tomorrow, Sharkie. I didn't *skip* day 6 so it's next on the list and there's nothing in it that is too dreadful.
I think it's because I know I've got 6 miles to do today to get to the next checkpoint ahead of Darwin. We walked 7.5 miles yesterday as well, so a psychological avoidance tactic I think. I like squats but don't like lunges much, though I accept I should do them to improve balance and strength.

Day 27/50 epic heat completed. Enjoyed today's: calf raises, squats and lunges. Nice mixture. I just stick to the order they come in.

DONE! CG Iron Series DAY 30. Finished. Hard today arms and abs (doesn't sound it, but was) will blog. Taken me eight weeks to her six ..but am still quite pleased with self.

Didn't miss anything out. Actually today was first 'fail' - one of the abs exercises seemed a bit mad and I couldn't properly do it. A plank variation - am usually quite good at stupid plank variations.

My arms are still v weak... just slightly less than 8 weeks ago!
Still on 2 x 5kg for bicep work that's not very good is it? - I managed a very brief 2 x 6kg in the palms up curls finisher. So perhaps could do 6s if I was solely working on strength.

Sharkie well done in completing it. You've done well fitting it in alongside everything else.

I'm impressed, Sharkie. I aspire to complete it in full, however long it takes, inspired by you.

I'm sure you will Gimme, if you put your mind to it - you are GOOD at strength training.

I've just looked at my training log and the last two weeks I DID do 5 sessions a week (along with track and 3 or 4 dance classes both weeks. So it 'can' be done as I am nothing special training wise! (In that I don't do masses and don't do any challenges)

Am actually looking forward to starting at the beginning again and doing it BETTER. That doesn't just mean heavier weights, I'm going to review the whole thing before I start again and see where I need to make changes to make it more effective for me.

It’s a good idea to repeat IRON. Lots of people do that and see bigger improvements on the 2nd round

About This Thread

Maintained by Sharkie
Caroline Girvan - tiny but tough, sweet but strong.

Here's a thread rather in the manner of the Shred craze that swept Fetchland some years ago, or perhaps more recently (and less bossily) Adriene's 30 Days of Yoga each year. I found Caroline Girvan via geordiegirl (ta, GG!) and am well impressed with her workouts. I'm currently on Day 27 of her 30 day Iron Series and have STUCK TO IT. Wonders will never cease, I was beginning to despair of the likelihood of me getting any sort...
