Support thread for parents of teenagers

If I just pulled her out she'd be at home all day fighting with OH or sleeping and eating crap. I don't know whether school is the whole problem or just part of it. She was better in the holidays in some ways but awful when there was no football to distract her. I could try to refer to CAMHS but perhaps she wouldn't engage. She won't talk to me. Or anyone it seems.

I wish I could give you some good advice, but I can't - except that you and your family's health and well being is more important than unhelpful schools and hypocritical teachers. So you must put your family first. Sending hugs.

WA Oct 2019 11:23pm, 16 Oct 2019 6,277 posts	0 WA SweetPea wouldn't talk to me, but talked to her CAMHS counsellor. You don't lose anything by trying. She's clearly a bright, beautiful person who just isn't in the right place. Tell her that from us. And what Dipps said.
lammo Oct 2019 6:39am, 17 Oct 2019 9,965 posts	0 lammo Linds, as has already been said i dont think you’ve got anything to lose by trying cahms and a counsellor. Somebody recommended a private counsellor to us and that has worked, in that they talk and she wants to see her.
