Thank you. Glad it's not just us. So frustrating.

Daughter's just presented me with four loads of washing to do.

She could have told me a bit earlier that it needed doing! We need to be packed and ready to travel by tomorrow evening.

It's also proving quite the challenge to convince her that she really does NOT need everything (including the kitchen sink) when she starts university.

Our experience was the storage in uni halls was very limited, so definitely try not to take too many clothes! She can swap over at holidays anyway. My daughters did take loads, I had a car-full both times and there was more when they came back!

Son is back in Bristol and probably won't be home again before starting 3rd year. He has some training ahead of fresher's week as he is helping set up a refugee awareness society with help from a local charity.

Daughter is getting herself ready for first year at uni with very little input needed from us. She mostly went round the local charity shops for all her kitchen gear and has everything packed already. She's excited and nervous, like her friends. Empty nest from Saturday.

Just dropped LittleD at school where she is signing a form for remark. She said she was sick with nerves about going in. She is always anxious about what to say to people. Is there anything I can do about this level of anxiety or is it just a case of her having experiences and learning she can navigate the world. I get that evem familiar places can make you anxious when you are feeling mentally unwell. Hell, I even struggled at parkrun when it was me, but I think she's in an OK place at the moment generally.

It may be more related to anxiety around school that's making this worse today. In general, Sweetpea found that the more she did, the more she was able to do. Her connecting train was cancelled the first time she came home from uni but she managed to find someone at the station who talked her through which trains were running and she got home in the end. Since then her confidence has really blossomed, but I doubt she could go back into her high school without feeling overwhelming anxiety.

We gave her some ideas of what to say (specific words were better than "say something like this" comments)
