@HazelnutCH I didn't enjoy that at all Time was 2.35 something, but it was so hot!!! Had such trouble right from the start of the day, had a long wait for first train, got on the next one, and we were held at Whitechapel. There was a fault on the line so when the announcement said this will be a long delay all the runners started getting off. I was then thinking oh great what now. Walked out onto the road and spoke to a couple who funny enough grew up in the same area as me. Anyway they jumped in a taxi and kindly let me get in to the baggage area.dropped off bag then had to walk to the start, quite a walk. I was full of trepidation as it was now getting hotter and I was fed up. Anyway first few miles were ok tbh. But after going under the Limehouse link and then lots of cobbles and lots of heat I just started to hate it and try to keep going. I had to do a couple of walk breaks. Getting home from cutty sark was a whole another bag of rubbish and hassle. I'm happy to be home but I understand why all my park run buddies go to Greenwich park for a picnic. don't think I'd do it again, unless I picnic with the others. 22 in my age cat and I've seen that at least 24 were slower than me. |

Well done half marathon runners ππΌHot and windy here too. Wow @Wabo what a nightmare. Trains are so unreliable these days π A little shy of 300k for August which is OK for someone who's plodding along without any schedule in mind. Still waiting for a running epiphany like @tinebeest . I've been there so I know what you mean βΊοΈ I ran 75k this week which is the most I've done in quite a while so today was just a bit of gentle cycling in a beautiful area. Got up nice and early and had the place to ourselves. We left when the crowds arrived. Early bird and all that π¦ββ¬ Enjoy the rest of the weekend ππ» |
