2200 sounds like just enough runners not to be lonely, Big_G :) It all sounds quite optimal. I appreciated having a flat just a mile or so from the start/finish in Seville and wanted to do the same for Valencia but a hotel was less expensive.

Similar for me, roberton. I don't cope well racing in the heat, but would much rather do a marathon training block through the summer when there's plenty of daylight, every day isn't a battle against the elements, and I can substitute bike rides or hikes for some of my runs. Whenever I've managed a decent spring marathon, it's been when I haven't been working standard office hours during the winter and have been able to run outdoors at some point between sunrise and sunset.

Stalking you, Wezza ;) I always like to be following a few runners who have ambitious targets with which I really, really want them to succeed.

Yes, itโ€™s a nice size. There are about 5000 on the start list for the Half that starts at the same time (itโ€™s a two lapper), so should be fine.

Thanks very much indeed for the stalking Velociraptor! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
I think it will be a big help and probably help keep me on my toes if I flag for any reason๐Ÿ˜€

And many thanks also to you, Bowman ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช. I hope at the very least to make it quite an interesting little adventure/project over the next few years.๐Ÿ˜€

For those who want a different marathon it's Stevenage this October. It's only held once every 10 years.

Ooh! Stevenage does sound interesting. Only about 30 Miles down the road. Sadly doesn't fit with plans - perhaps next time๐Ÿ˜€

Now as I'm beginning my new regime, I've just been figuring out where to kick off with my long run? After looking at my longer runs over the last few months, I reckon that 90 minutes is a good place to start on Sunday

90 minutes would make sense based on your training, Wezza :) Slow enough that you can do the whole distance at around the same pace, fast enough to be enjoyable.
