Hello

Not sure if there is one already (had a search couldn't find one)and so thought I would start one (if there is one already then please feel free to post the link and let this one disappear into obscurity).

Anyway down to business. I am running VLM in April 2010. My last marathon was Berlin in 2007 (in fact my only one to date). I perhaps didn't do as much training as I should have done but I just wanted to get round. I got round in 4hr 45 mins.

This weekend a fellow fetchie reckoned I could do London in 4 hours, so here I am, on the 4 hour Marathon thread.

Who's with me? :)

Whaddya think the HM time needs to be to get sub 4? I am about 1.50 and missed sub 4 by minutes last time. I reckon I need to get 1.45 before sub 4 will be mine, if at first you don't succeed :)

I think sub 1.50 weereenie

When I got mine I was off a 1.44 but I think 1.48 ish would be good. I halfed at about 1.52 in the race.

With my last Marathon (3.40) I came thru at 1.47 then again the second half I did spend 5 mins in kazi

I think you need to be about 1.50 for half....

Hippo, I think you have a 4 hour marathon in you.......i think you sometimes dont realise where you actually *are* now as supposed to where you *were*, you're not far away!! I believe that one day I will run a 3.30, and you are the same distance from that as I am from 3.30!!

Guys I'd like to hang around a bit even tho I've just done 3.45. I'll be doing backtoback marathons over the spring and would like to be able to do the 'easier' road ones in about 4 hrs.

According to the 'calculators' a 1:50 Half should get you a 4 hr mara.
