Mind you, a 1.50 half sounds even sillier

I'm lurking too since my aim for the 10 in 10 is 4 hours per day.

9 minute miling is good pacing if you're comfortable with it, gives you a few minutes' cushion for mishaps. And I think you can get to a sub 4 off a 1'55 if your endurance is very good, otherwise, a 1'50 is probably more suited. I think my 1/2 time was 1'50 when I ran my first sub 4.

Dunno if it's possible yet!

You have got a sub 4 in you without question Flip. We all know you're nails off road, now prove it on tarmac :-P

If the weather is ok and my legs not to trashed from my 10 mile PB the day before i may have a go at newcastle. The race will be terrible and the sooner i'm in the pub the better. That said, this weekend sees my restart of racing and training which i swapped for eating and drinking after hardmoors so i'm not very fit or not feeling it anyway.

Hipps I remember when you said sub 5 was impossible and look at you now, I would like sub 4.15 but doubt I would get it in a crowded marathon like London.

I'm 4.01 as a PB I was nearly crying when I crossed the line I was so frustrated. Don't think I'll PB at Newcastle but it's all to play for at Lochaber :)

Hippo - you *so* have a sub 4 in you. It's just at the pub drinking gin with mine that's all

I shall settle in here too :)

A time starting with 3 is my goal for Brighton mara. I've got a 4:01 mara off a 1:47 half, but I've always found my times get weaker as the distances go up. I'm not running my best times at the moment but focus is back now and I'm working on building the endurance. Shall be giving it my best shot!
