Raptors claws are coming to town
And Seville Marathon is fast and fun, not far from Málaga, and in February, @Fenland Flier :)

Certainly one to consider because the airport is on the edge of the city and so wouldn't be a long transfer either. I'd have to get back some running motivation and train properly again to do another race.

Definitely wise to get some momentum going and then pick an event around the time you're likely to be in tip-top marathon shape, @Fenland Flier. It's what I'd tell anyone else to do, rather than my strategy of picking the event, flinging myself at the training and crossing my fingers.

When I restarted running in 2013 for London in 2015 I took 16 months to build up and train for it. I suppose if I were to consider Seville in 2026 I'd need to start now.
I had considered a marathon next year for my 60th year but I just don't have the inclination.

Crikey :-O I regard 16 weeks as a long enough build-up for my poor old attention span.

If I was running regularly and had a base then I'd use an 18 week plan but last month I ran 10 miles and only 20 in October. I don't enter races for fun but to do them justice consequently I'd use the build up.

Thanks @Velociraptor and @Ally-C. Yes, I was a whisker away in 2012 and I'm sure there's still a sub-4 in me.

After years of running solo, I'm back out doing long runs with my former training partner from back then and his club. It's already making those long runs much easier at the moment. They certainly don't have me procrastinating about getting out there and doing them.

Got something to say?
