That Dusseldorf time in 2012, @Jaffa Cake 😯 Ouch! So very close! Looks like you've been thereabouts often enough. Sub-4 is pending.

You tempted to go to MΓ‘laga next year, @Ally-C? At €49 a ticket it's almost worth a gamble this far out, and there's loads of cheap accommodation available. Not that I've looked, of course, straight home after Valencia for me πŸ™ˆπŸ™‰πŸ™Š

Aye, sounds fair, @Ally-C.

I need to get to grips with the fact that I hate marathons, but I'm still kicking and screaming.

I used to be able to do a 26 mile training run by myself. The thought of that now though.

I never could. There are a few solo 20+ milers from when I lived in Birmingham and could make them a little bit interesting, running through the colourful areas of the city and that, but mostly I went on cumulative distance.

Know a good few folk who did the full or half in Malaga and they all did good times to be fair.

Seems to be a decent event. I'd be fibbing if I said I wasn't tempted to enter, but I've given myself a couple of hoops I need to jump through first. No point signing up to do two marathons a week apart next December if I can't make myself go out and run for two hours this December.

Festive Flier
I did Malaga in 2017 in sub 3.30 hoping for a sub 3.40. A great event and lots of loops for someone to support and stay reasonably within the centre of town. I'd love to go back but I can't take time off in December anymore.

The supporter-friendliness is a priority for me now that eL Bee! has cemented himself into that role. All the major marathons in Spain seem to have ideal courses for a supporter to see "their" runner at multiple places. Belfast was good for that too.
