Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Youngest is volunteering at parkrun for his DofE - this is most useful as he needs a lift there....
Have run twice so far, aiming for ~11 mm as a "steady" run (~34mins) rather than "eyeballs out" and ended up with 33:30 and then 32:30, which pleased me immensely :)

Might give sub 31mins a bash before Christmas, but can't see me getting sub-30 this year.

and bumping this one too -

Any takers for a concerted effort by the end of the year?

I have a pr pencilled in for the end of the year as a test of what some consistent running might do - having failed to reap the benefits of PJ last time around due to the hot weather at my target event and laziness on Saturday morning's since!

Hi Rosehip!

I’m still a way off a sub 30 5K but will start watching this thread again and who knows? Maybe next year ;-)

Hello again Rosehip! We seem to have similar goals ;-)

I tried Project Joker over the summer too but got scuppered by the hot weather and then not being able to do a flattish 5k. Did a 5k race in September that was slower than the base one! Ah well. Perhaps I’ll have another go whilst waiting for marathon training to start.

And here we are a year later and no nearer a 30 minute 5k, or that elusive 10mm target :)

But, I'm running better than I have in a few years, more consistently and without any "issues" so this is going to be my target for 2021. I ran 37:50 on 7th December so my first bit of a target is to get to sub 12mm

Goal 1 - 37:15 (11:59mm)
Goal 2 - sub 35 (11:16mm)
Goal 3 - sub 31 (10mm)
Goal 4 - sub 30 (9:39mm)
Goal 5 - PB 29:13 (9:23mm)

I'm hoping by the time parkrun is up and running again, I'll be consistently running 5k without any walk breaks.

Ooh hello. Sun 30 is a big stretch for me (32.11 at last attempt) but I’m still hopeful. I’m doing weekly speed sessions so you never know..
