Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I was timekeeper at parkrun today instead of running. Back to running it next week.

I did parkrun in 32.48 on Saturday so I was really pleased with that. I’ve restarted Project Joker and I know if I stick to the sessions it will make a big difference.

I got down to 27:43 at a parkrun recently and in a 10k race Wednesday ran my fastest 5k of the year in the first half. Unusually for theme of this thread I'm now deliberately starting to slow down most of my runs and pick up mileage and running parkruns in early to mid 30s in trying to get more and more less intense miles in. It was great on Saturday not running flat out. Wishing everyone else well in their efforts.

I managed to run a whole 5k at parkrun last week in a time of 37:37, so time to start chipping away at the time and get closer to 30 minutes if I can.
How is everyone else doing?

Recent-ish best (July) is 31:08. Last week was 33 at a comfortable effort level. HR stats suggest that on a day when I didn't have tired legs*, and I did some specific speed training, I might scrape sub-30. Although I don't know when such circumstances are likely.

*5x9 hour shifts on my feet at work pretty much guarantee tired legs.
