Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Been struggling since I managed sub 30 in September, but ran 32.27 yesterday in tough conditions, (for me anyway), having to hang in at times. Managed to get round without walking and the last km was the fastest. Keep going everyone!

Well done GH! I'm a long way off at the moment - just under 40 minutes is my SB.

I seem to be stuck around 33-34 minutes. I know I need to do some interval training and tempo runs, but it’s just easier to keep plodding at the same pace. I’m marathon training at the moment as I have The Great Welsh in April, so I’m going to try to add one ‘quality’ run per week from now on (either intervals, tempo or hills).

Yes, I think intervals is probably the best idea, Lin. Good luck with your marathon training; I got my fastest 5k and 10k times off the back of marathon training. The distances didn't seem that far all of a sudden (compared to the long runs I was doing) :)

33.03 at parkrun this morning, but it only measured as 3.08 miles. Still fairly happy as I was aiming for under 34 minutes and felt pretty comfortable all the way round. I’m probably doing this one again next week so it’ll be interesting to compare and if I’m at a similar pace towards the end I’ll try to push a bit to get under 33 minutes.

parkrun again today - Garmin time 33.09 (official time 33.14) so a little slower than last week, but this week was a full 5k whereas last week was a bit short at 3.08 miles. Happy that all my miles started with a 10. I’m going to do this parkrun every week now for the next 6 or 7 weeks as I help to run our running club beginners C25k sessions afterwards, so that should help monitor any improvements on my times.
