Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

It’s lovely to see you here, Evangel. The knee injury is hopefully behind you 🤞.

Hi Evangel, good luck on your return.

Saturday found me surprisingly considerably much closer to sub-30 with a 30:25 (watch time) at Strathclyde parkrun. Not quite sure how that happened. My logged running distance this month is 10km - including that run.

How's everyone doing?

I've updated the side-bar with current best 5k times.
I got a parkrun time of 36:16 today, my fastest 5k since April '21. I'm now targeting sub-33, to get my fastest 5k since April '15. I'll be very happy if I can get back to running 5k in around 31-32 minutes, like I used to regularly manage.

Well done GM great progress being made.
I don't run parkruns but have a 5k in 15 days time and then another 3-4 weeks later so will give me an idea of where I am.

I'm sorry to mislead you all by saying I was getting back to running. I had a 2nd gentle run with lots of walk breaks, but that didn't go well. I had pain on the inside of the knee which did not ease, and persisted afterwards. I haven't run since, but I am hoping to try again - very cautiously - next week. By the time I try running again it will be about 12 weeks off running. We're going away for a short break near Rhyl (North Wales) on Monday, and I thought I might try it while we have a very flat prom to run on.

I've done it :)
29:54 at parkrun this morning. I'm very pleased with that. Not quite a PB (29:14 back in 2013) but I've knocked over 6 minutes off since January so I'm hopeful that later this year I'll beat that 🤞
