WP - so annoying about those ads. I never ever click on any ad on social media. I only clicked on that one today as I knew it was a fake.

Great run from you today.

WP-Thats a really good run,it's a great feeling when that happens.
Similar here, ran 14 and felt really strong throughout, that's 3x14 in the last 11 days so feel happy to step up now.I wanted to be happy in that area before I moved up.
I ran to the park and did 3 loops,if I had more time to spare I'd have happily ran longer in there,it is definitely my happy place for running.

Same here, I reported a bunch of scam Saucony ads but it just resulted in messages back from FB saying the ads were legitimate and a news feed full of ads for various brands of trainer, presumably because the algorithm just picked up, "You've engaged, therefore this is what you want to see."

Vrap - it's so annoying. I saw a Saucony ad this week that must have been fake. Obviously it any crook pays FB for an advert in FB's eyes that makes them a legitimate seller.
I delete every advert that FB thinks I want to see. Usually I have a day of multiple adverts then nothing for several weeks. I also delete every advert that FB friends share.

Great training Ian. How's the shoulder now? How was your most recent scan?

Shades-It isn't too bad, still struggle lifting stuff above shoulder height but overall I'm really happy with it.
Not had anything back from the MRI,but that was only because if it wasn't healing right then I was ahead so they could look at surgery, but it is definitely healing right.

Ian: That sounds a really good run and great when you feel happy with the distance.I think we all have a happy place to run.
My cycle track has become that when I first ran it when we moved here I hated it but as I found I can extend it and I love it traffic free and lots of banter with the walkers.

I don't use FB but twitter (I refuse to call it anything else) seems to be the same and not as nice a place since what's his name bought it!

Thanks so this week LSR and @ 2 MWLR must be 5 weeks or more I just need the LSR to feel as easy as these mid week ones.It must be the cheese on toast ;)

Ian - you've healed really well. You'll most likely have minor lack of full movement for quite a while. You'll have to ask for assistance putting your bag in the overhead lockers on a plane for a while. 😉

WP - I don't use X, Twitter. Couldn't cope with anything more than FB. My running club doesn't have a website so FB keeps us in touch. And I couldn't do without my local Spotted page on FB which at times is usefully informative but mostly hilarious.

We've had beetroot shots as a performance enhancer. Looks like cheese on toast might be more effective. 🤣

This was yesterday's gem on Spotted

Saw a women earlier who was running away from a seagull on Clifford avenue screaming LEAVE ME ALONE. Just checking she's okay

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
