Keith - that looks fun, 43 bridges, hopefully more under than over. I'll update the list tomorrow.

Omni's are on my wish list too. Have you run in them yet?

That does look like a lot of fun with all the bridges.
Nice shoe shopping.

I can't keep doing all this online shoe browsing without buying something. My wish list is getting longer.🤔
Think I'll opt for the Triumph 21's next.

Keith - hope the cough clears up soon, not Covid I hope.

Let me know what they're like when you do run in them.

Shades - Have you looked into the asics nimbus 25 and 26? I use them instead of Novablast now. They are less bouncy/Lacey in exchange for more comfort/softness.

Big G - Re taper I’ve got the big half this Sunday then all being well, one last big >20 with MP and that’ll be that. Hope today went as well as could be hoped for you.

9 miles around this park in Newport this morning. No sign of mad dogs so had a nice run. Have come back to London which is about 10 degrees warmer as usual.

Rcouture - there is no edit on here, so caution required 😉

I'm still using a pair of Nimbus 24 which are one of my favourite shoes and they will be replaced when they're worn out. Very comfy.

A lot of shoes are having radical upgrades and of course I want to try them all. My paltry mileage doesn't really justify more shoes at the moment but I still have some surplus budget on my credit card that I may as well put to good use.

4+ miles today, much fresher. Slightly better run. Gym again today, another 80 minutes 😫

Rcouture, there’s no edit feature on here, unfortunately. It’s a legacy thing as Fetch currently doesn’t want to implement it.

Funeral went well. It was a really good turnout, and I’d booked the cricket club for afterwards with some food/nibbles, and some stories were shared. Even though I’d organised it and knew what music was in the service (just 50s/60s rock n roll), it is still the music that got to me the most - it does that! The minister read out a tribute from me which was well received as well, and that also sparked some chats back at the cricket club. So it was a good day and a nice send off for him.

Got back and in the evening I was feeling twitchy for some reason, so jumped on the bike and did an hour in the pain cave.

Also did 5 miles this morning in what seemed great running conditions. It was much fresher than of late, but the sea was like a millpond, and I had a great run. I would have carried on for longer but today’s was an ‘extra’ run and I didn’t want to push it.

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
