New pair of contact lenses in today. Had problems putting the second one in. Didn’t feel right and vision blurred. Took it in & out repeatedly. Then realised first eye was quite blurry. Then I realised I had been putting both contacts in the same eye. Eejit!

Put some braising steak on to slow cook overnight ready to make a pie. Set up the smart plug so it would turn off at 4 am and be cool enough to work with when I got up.

Woke at 7 to the smell of steak braising.

The smart plug was turned off. As was the toaster I'd plugged into it. The slow cooker was bubbling away gently, plugged directly into the socket.

The power went off momentarily so I asked Mr W to fill a saucepan with water in case it went off again.

Just took the dog out for a walk before it gets dark. House three doors away has a massive bonfire starting. Was chuntering away to myself, 'good job I haven't left any washing out, honestly, you'd think that they would warn the neighbours before....ah..."

Genuine one from Cuthbert . Playing rip off version of Articulate he got as a very late birthday present. Kids v adults.

Cuthbert (10 yrs old, describing) - City that was stormed in the Iliad
Cedd (12 yrs old, guessing) looked puzzled
Cuthbert -sorry we have them in the kidcave (our word for their playroom) and mum makes us tidy them up before bed
Cedd - Toy??
Cuthbert - yeah sorry. I misread it as Troy first time.

I literally laughed out loud at that, lf :)

I started to take the washing I'd put in yesterday out of the washing machine. Ew, smells grim. Has the machine got all musty again?
You can guess the rest ;)

I dropped my car at the garage for a service tomorrow and walked home.
When I got home I began to panic because my car wasn’t n the drive!

LOL ER! That used to happen to me when I got home before hubby did when he occasionally drove to his office.

About This Thread

Maintained by ChrisHB
This morning I went to charge my kindle and instead found myself trying to charge my coffee mug. It was my third coffee of the day as well, clearly not strong enough!

=============

I was just drying my hair after a shower, I switched the hairdryer on and suddenly the bedroom was plunged into darkness, the hairdryer wasn't working either. Great, the electrics have just tripped out.

I find a torch, go to the fuse box but nothing has tripped - turns out I pressed the light switch instead of the hairdryer 'on' button.
