Thanks WtnMel.

I'm glad that you enjoyed your walking holiday, despite the bruised toes.

The usual Tuesday Farmers Walk this morning, and a routine dental appointment this afternoon.

No fast walk for me this morning as I promised to take Mrs WM to Croome (NT) for a wander around the grounds. Followed by a coffee and then one of their delicious baked potatoes.

Some minor excitement as we left. Was confronted by a police bike with blue lights flashing motioning us to stop. Followed by a number of other bikes before two SUV's with blue lights flashint swept past us. Presumably royalty on their eaycsomewhere

Oops .. hit enter too quick then! Meant to say .. more likely to have been Rishi, Keir or some other politico rushing off to their next appointment with the electorate.

Sounds nice WtnMel, a stroll with Mrs WM, followed by coffee and delicious baked potatoes.

That's interesting, police on bikes, escorting two SUV's. They must have been VIP's or Royalty.

My dental appointment was at 3.30, the worst possible time. All the kids were streaming out of school, and the road was full of nose to tail cars, with drivers going to collect them.

I had to make another appointment for two fillings ☹️

Got out for a fast walk this morning and it felt great. Nice and quiet which helped. Managed 3mls at 15:32mm pace which was very pleasing.

Hello guys glad you set us up a new nest which seems very comfortable.
Canute I'm sure you are very welcome.

I'm ticking over nicely, not much you report. Had an eye test at Boots today. Its seems my sight got worse so 2 new pairs of reading glasses ordered.

2 fillings hillstrider 😳
Glad you are feeling stronger WtnMel

Well done Mel for your fast 3 mile walk this morning. 15. 32 pace is very impressive.

Hi 0061, I'm glad that you found your way onto this thread.

I'm sorry to hear that you had to have new reading glasses. I had to have new reading and driving glasses after my routine eye test a few months ago.

A very good session this morning with the Wednesday Group. 5 x 100 metres, 5 x 200 metres with 30 seconds recoveries, and 4 x 400 metres with 60 seconds recoveries on grass. Total mileage including run out and back was 4.28.

An easy pace 4 miles recovery run on roads this morning. I'm saving myself now for Sundays 10k road race.

I was impressed with that pace myself Hillstrider - it's normally closer to 16mm.

OO61 - glad to see you've found your way here. I 'think' Aquarius has set herself up a new Fetch account. Hoping she'll find time soon to post and say hello.

Hillstrider - well done te the interval session and recovery run. Good luck with Sunday's 10K.

Mrs WM is with me in Tring so no walk this evening. I hope to get out on Sat morning as we're heading to Hemel Hempstead in the afternoon.

Just booked my car in for an MOT in July - seems a way off but last time I had to drive to Worcester, and was told to book asap. They wanted £20 to book a courtesy car but to have the car collected from home and delivered back later was free. You can guess which option I chose!

Thanks WtnMel, I'm afraid that it is going to be really hot again on Sunday, like last year 🥵

It's always a good idea to book an MoT a while ahead. My garage always emails me advising when it's due, so I book an appointment there and then. They also collect and return my car foc.

On the subject of cars, I had noticed that many only had one daytime light working, so I decided to check mine. Sure enough, only one working. I drove to the car accessories shop and they actually replaced both bulbs. The duff one had turned black, and the other was grey, so on its last legs. Very reasonable charge, £3.80 for the two including fitting.

The mechanic advised that a major cause was the jolting as the cars drove over potholes.
