HS, apologies, I accidentally posted the above before responding to your post. How is it that your running crowd always look so happy and relaxed? No-one ever looks like they've just completed a run. I need to know their secret! A great time, and well done on winning your age group, you must have had a good AG percentage too. Another day tomorrow juggling running and grandchildren. Also a physio visit, but not for my shoulder - that appointment is the following day. Instead it's the usual appointment I book from time to time for a "tune up' of my legs. I'll ask them to concentrate on my ankles (still a bit dodgy after turning one a week or so ago) and knees, which ache all the time now while I'm running. (I'm beginning to sound like a lost cause don't I?) |

I wish I could get to grips with this website. I only wanted to edit my comment but ended up reposting it.

Thanks Aquarius. Brighton was just a daytime from London. We had fish and chip and went on the pier. Quite a nice day. I guess some of you may have seen that parkrun have forced the 5k app to remove all their detailed stats including age cat records. This has been done immediately so they have already gone. Inevitable I guess but a sad day... |

Hillstrider - as mentioned below, my old hearing aids didn't help my Mum. Well done re the recent interval session, parkrun, hilly 4mls. Nice photo of you, Mike & the Sarah's at parkrun. OO61 - for the avoidance of doubt, I was merely spectating at the Go Ape treetop adventure. Glad you enjoyed your trip to Brighton and good luck in advance for the GNR. Aquarius - I'm still waiting for Margaret to show me the photos of the Segway experience .. I'll have to remind her. That PI price was purely because it was a Sunday night .. prices on other nights are still much more. Good luck following the Garmin 10k training plan. But I see you have your grandchildren staying with you which will mean some juggling of activities .. although I see you managed to get out yesterday before they were dropped off. I don't think there IS a way to edit posts .. if there is, I've not come across how to do it! I took my spare hearing aids with me to my Mum but they didn't help. I've suggested to my sister we arrange for Mum to get her hearing checked out and I'm pretty sure she would qualify for free hearing aids on the NHS (hopefully without too much of a delay). My sons came with me to see my Mum and she enjoyed seeing them. My eldest Glenn suggested we play cards and it was good to see my Mum hadn't forgotten how to play Rummy. I did a 3.5ml fast(ish) walk in my new Saucony shoes this morning and could feel the subtle 'rocker' motion helping propel me forward. I think they'll be okay but I'll try them a few more times before giving my final verdict. The pace this morning (16:50mm) wasn't up to much - but it is the first time I've been out for a brisk walk for 6 weeks so I'm sure I'll speed up a bit as I get back into it. Having left the u3a book group I used to run, and having been scouting around for something new, tonight I'm off for a 'taster' session with a community choir a couple of u3a acquaintances belong to. Will see how I get on and whether I will continue with it. |

Aquarius - I've just noticed there is a 'Preview' button. Not the same as being able to edit posts, but might be useful for a last 'proof read' before you hit the 'Submit Your Comment' button?

0061, I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the Victoria Dock parkrun, as it was course B and overcrowded. It was similar at the Moors Valley parkrun, it was course B, as there were hornets nests on course A. There were 650 runners, so very congested in places. I hope that you had a nice day in Brighton with your daughter, and good luck with the GNR at the weekend. Tks for mentioning the removal of stats and records from the 5k app, I hadn't noticed. Aquarius, that's ok, it's easily done. There's no secret, we train hard, enjoy running, and each others company. My WAVA was 68.94%. It seems like you have had a very busy day today, with running, the grandchildren and a visit to the physio. WtnMel, thanks. It's a shame that your hearing aids didn't help your mum, so I hope that she does qualify for free ones on the NHS. It was good that your sons visited her with you. Well done for todays 3.5 miles walk in the new Saucony shoes. Good luck with the Community Choir! Yesterday was a 6.79 miles run in the forest with the Sarah's and Mike, and this morning was the usual Tuesday Farmers Walk. The supermarket is having "a makeover" and everything has been moved around. Lots of walking up and down the Isles looking for things. It wasn't too bad, as it is always quiet early Tuesday mornings, but will be chaotic on Friday with no-one knowing where anything is! |

Apologies for the misunderstanding Wtnmel. When I saw my family on those climbs and zip wires I was relieved not to be up there. Yes a nice day in Brighton hillstrider, home to the North East tomorrow. Glad you enjoyed your run in the forest, are the leaves turning yet? |

Thanks 0061,no the leaves haven't started turning yet. This morning was 4.62 miles in the forest with Sarah H. This included hill reps of 6 minutes on each of 3 hills, run out and back. |

I did 3 miles in Greenwich Park with my wife followed by coffee and full English. Nearly home up North now.... |
