Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Well done Ness.

Did you interval the 5k ks? If not then surely at best it's your tempo session.

A fresh week Jokers, keep at it.

Welcome aboard ks. Well done Ness.

Got week 3's interval session done today - before the wind and the rain later.

5 x 800m today all within a few seconds of the target pace :)

Well done Mr T and Ness - both good sessions.
That's an impressive 5k time ks.

No i didn't interval it ;)

My local park run is a out and back with the turn point half mile from home. It's uphill then back downhill so er the intervals are actually slower than my downhill pace which was a smidge under 8 min miling. Heck the tempo pace is slower than my uphill pace today.

KS, then ideally if you're going to count this run then it should be tempo.

Probably should not really count at all being it was the initial time setter but there is zero chance of three actual proper runs this week. Can't run Wednesdays as no time spare so would be Tue and Thur for the faster ones and tomorrow i intend to be doing sod all whilst the Covid Jab does it stuff.

Will start it proper on Saturday then i can finish with a new 5k handily on a Saturday and possibly doing the actual Park Run which will help cos i'd have some one to chase down.

The general plan fits well bar the long runs. I'll be doing 2+ hour ones being i have Windermere marathon in a few weeks and another end of July. Also pondering a 56 mile ultra for October so because of those proper long runs will be inevitable and i foresee some 30 odd mile treks somewhere at the weekends.

Potential for going a bit longer on the tempo runs but will see how i feel to start with. Intervals are fine as never really bothered with them in the past and relied on endurance over raw speed. Got to sacrifice one for the other alas and my preference is long stuff.

Intervals will prob be the way i used to do them with 2 min jog recoveries rather than outright rest. Old pace for them was 8 min miles so these will be a bit slower. May use 26:15 as start time rather than 26:19 as i would gain that easily with other people to chase.
