Same today, MrT. I attempted my threshold run, put in the effort but only managed 15secs slower than required! The wind and rain didn’t help it even so... :-(

I’m also resting tomorrow and starting again on Monday. This morning I did my interval session. 1 mile warm up followed by 6x800metres and then a mile cool down. I managed times of....

1) 1m - 9:38(9:38/m)
2) 0.5m - 4:28(8:53/m)

3) 0.5m - 4:22(8:46/m)

4) 0.5m - 4:36(9:13/m)
5) 0.5m - 4:31(9:00/m)
6) 0.5m - 4:33(9:06/m)

7) 0.5m - 4:35(9:07/m)
8) 1m - 9:21(9:21/m)

Quite pleased with that. :)

Well done Ness, what is your aim for the reps?

I've noticed before that the cool down mile is generally faster than the warm up mile.

My cool down mile always does seem a bit quick. When I first started Project Joker I put in my 5k pace at the time which was 30:31. So the interval session it suggested was 5x800m at 4:59 for each interval. I was aiming for sub 30 in my 5k at the end of the project in June but the training sessions have been going much better than expected so I’m hoping to do better than that.

I had to take a Joker for this week’s threshold run. I usually do it on a Friday but a long day in the office meant I was a bit late getting home. Didn’t feel up to pushing myself so just did a steady 3 miles. Next week is my last week of PJ.

Well done Ness.

I find that my warm down is often quicker than my warm up - just assume that my legs have just got used to moving faster. Because of the way I set up my watch the final interval is still followed by an x min jog recovery - and then the warm down, so by the time the warm down starts of caught my breath...

Good luck with your last week, lin50. I’ve just finished week 5.
