Hi everyone. I've just signed up for another go at this. Planning on intervals on Tuesday and going to start with 5x800m. What's best in terms of the rest in between - is that a collapse on the floor, gently walk, slow jog - is it something to do with heart rate... I had a quick skim of one of my books that I dug off the book shelf yesterday and blew off the dust - but that was talking about VO2max intervals and didn't start until 1200m...

I opt for just a walk til I’ve got my breath back. I use an old timex watch to time the rest periods and don’t bother to record that bit but a few people mentioned on here that they find it useful to monitor that as part of their training session. I think it’s down to what you’re comfortable with really.

Mister Tea, I personally jog the rest breaks however occasionally there are walk breaks. Each to there own, some prefer to walk some stand around. I prefer to try and keep the motion going and add the distance up overall. I hope this helps.

Long run this morning. Suggested pace is 14:07 but I Jeffed 60:30 and averaged 13mm. My legs were fine at the end and my last mile was the 2nd fastest.

Sounds like you’re doing really well, three weeks in, GimmeMedals. It’d be nice if we could have a parkrun to test ourselves out in at the end of the project.
