So just catching up, TJ Van Garderen and Dan Martin out after horrible crash? Sagan taken out by a vehicle and comes in 4 minutes down???

Carnage today. Van Garderen out. Martin out. Boekemans out. Bouhanni out. Numerous other interesting offs on the technical descent, and Sagan seemingly taken out by a vehicle in the closing 8km - he wasn't happy, but finished.

Have there been a lot more vehicle related incidents this year, or is it just more awareness of them?

Bouhanni out too. Chavez caught up in crash but Orica Green Edge got him back to the main bunch... And also this from a fairly flat stage.

Most collar bone injuries, but Boekemans sounds in a bad way. Been put into an induced coma for a few days. Not nice. Hopefully he'll have a speedy recovery.

Oh no, do hope the ride in a coma recovers fully. And Sagan must be hopping mad. A loss from my team too.

Hopefully Boeckmans is just in a coma to help recovery and there are no life threatening injuries.

Any sign of brain injury or swelling and they'll induce coma. They said he had facial injuries too-I know how awful these can be having worked in that area for a while.
It will be a while before he is back, if ever :-(
