I had Sagan and also have Froome. But I did ok out of Roche and I still have Rodriguez and Majka. Stage wins and high GC placings seem to be the thing to go for if you want your team to do well.
Meg - Agree. Re J-Rod and Majka I thought they'd be battered from the Tour as well so didn't pick them, although I almost went for Majka as I thought he'd be motivated.
MRI this morning for Froome so that,s him gone. Can Aru take some more time or will Dumoulin hang in there and smash the TT to take it. Can,t say I really care. Always seem to miss the excitement of the Vuelta, it passes me by compared to the Giro and the Tour. ToB on sunday somewhere on the hill outside Ruthin if weather is good. Nearest it gets this year, might have to endure a visit to Cheshire Oaks by way of persuasion for Mrs DB to come along.
Froome definitely out, broken bone in foot Which actually shows his achievement in finishing yesterday.
I have never followed anything more than the Tour until this year, the Dauphine was excellent. Not finding the Vuelta as exciting as the Tour, though I like the features at the beginning and end of the ITV highlights programmes, and I really like Millar's commentary. Double bubble next week with the ToB starting too.
The Vuelta of 2 years ago Horner vs Nibali was as thrilling as ANY Tour, especially the bit where Nibali cracked on the 25% section of the Angliru. Up there with Roche on La Plagne. This vid shows the last bit of the climb. Up until then it looked like Nibali had Horner on the ropes, at this point seconds separated them. The commentators get the bit when Nibali cracks hilariously wrong, thinking he's been clipped by a motorbike when he can no longer turn the bike.
