Dave W wrote: Taylor Swift endorses Kamala Harris for president in post signed ‘childless cat lady’ Nicely done. And bizarre as it sounds, this might just swing it for Harris. I do hope so. Think I read somewhere that Swift is thought to have a lot of influence but had been reluctant to voice an opinion on politics. Today we'll see Trump whining about losing last night and calling for Swift to be jailed or some shit. |

Swift's post is reasoned and reasonable. Much as I dislike the fact that celebrity endorsements matter, I find this one satisfying and the way she has done it is intelligent and non inflammatory too. Harris looks to have tilted things ever so slightly in her favour last night which is good. Now it's whether she can build on it with keeping those same lines of attack and vision up in a way which keeps chipping away at things. |

Bazoaxe wrote: Fozzy you are lucky having £20k to put in an ISA. Did you consider putting it in a pension and getting 20% tax added? No. Because then I would have no fallback money. I am about to be made redundant and it's no good locked away in a pension. I think I would prioritise paying off mortgage first anyway. As stated I don't normally have £20k to put in an ISA. There are several one-off reasons I have used my allowance this year. If you knew the full story, you wouldn't say "lucky" I do manage to save a bit per month, but it almost always goes into my emergency what happens when I am made redundant fund. The joys of fixed term contract shit. |

Didn't Swift only feel she needed to do it to counteract a deep fake of her doing an endorsement for Trump? Even if she wasn't sold out on Harris I reckon that'd be sufficiently annoying to ensure she wanted to at least negate that false impression.

Some of the stuff he said last night about some states allowing execution of new born babies and Haitian immigrants eating people's pet cats and dogs was pretty crazy. Does that land with his followers? Still 50/50 +/- margin of error% apparently. What a strange world. Hope against hope that Harris can win. G |

She's endorsed democrats before. She just chose not to get too involved in 16 &20, but has become more political since - particularly after the SC overturned Roe |

G The Haitian immigrants eating cats in Springfield, OH is a conspiracy theory that has been doing the rounds in MAGA circles and trump friendly media in the past few days. It is a completely false made up story. |

With his core followers he could be the one serving up the pets and they’d still vote for him. The key question is whether it lands with the undecideds.

Taylor Swift displayed more maturity and judgement in one social media post than Trump has managed in thr last 4 years.
