Viable both practically (ie meets the requirements with minimal disruption) and financially (ie affordable to the man in the street)

Utility scale solar and onshore wind are already cheaper than existing amortised coal and gas plants. lazard.com |

A lesser known stunt man from a more golden age of cinema. (Think Ben Hur). Someone I would have loved to have met. Not conscious of the possible innuendo references, but then sometimes these things just slip in and it can be quite hard to spot when you are doing it. |

That’s good to hear and provided those saving are passed on to consumers it will drive adoption and investment quicker than banning anything. I guess the main issue at the moment is scalability and whether the infrastructure can meet the demands yet. |

I used to work with an American bloke called Seth. He had a brain the size of a planet. He used to opine that all the theories about the world running out of food, oil, energy, plus overpopulation etc, were bunk, “because human beings will always be smart enough to figure out alternatives and find a way out of things”. Which is optimistic in one sense but hopelessly naive in others. I didn’t argue with him. He had a tank like personality and brooked no counterpoints. Best to swerve such people, I find. |

I think the challenge is as much the global thirst for more energy as much the transition. New renewables cannot keep pace with increasing demand let alone replacing FF. An AI search results in at least 5x more energy use than without. |

You'd need to fact check me though. Start with these guys, they're pretty good at this sort of thing: ren21.net

To go back earlier, I've come across the fact the Stats for Lefties guide mislead with his stats. (I did caveat at the time saying he was unreliable) The other sentences were correct, but he omitted all other Just Stop Oil activists sentencing this year from his total, which would have brought it down. Should be called Made up stats for political ends. I'm sure the final figure would still have been pretty horrible.
