BBC were saying earlier that Hunt had invested tens of thousands of his own money to try to ensure he retained his seat.

I don't believe Hunt wants to be leader.

As alluded to, he may not want to, but may feel he needs to do it to, save the party from lurching to far right

@paulcook I agree that's why they lost but I don't think many of the remaining Tory MPs want to accept that and will argue that it's about their political stance. More infighting about centre or extreme right is on the cards while they try to feather their nests because that's what they were taught that it means to be an Tory MP? I can hope.

Certainly I don't see them resolving their party's issues with integrity any time soon.

Is it possible that some of the losing Tories decide to switch to Reform?

If the remaining rw runt of the Tory party see some of those happening they may decide to switch themselves?

Would like to see some analysis of the various polls and the exit poll for popular vote and seat outcomes.

Likewise Labour's below the low end of the polls. Very probably one influences the other.

Would also like to see which seats went to Labour but if RefCon was a thing and we added those together would have a different result.

I know it’s not realistic because of tactical voting but would be interesting.
