Parties have different strategies for targeting people, is it possible that your children have signed petitions or otherwise suggested they may be sympathetic to libdems bazo? Locally everyone on the roll is getting two libdem leaflets posted, it depends on funding and strategies...we have also had Tory and Labour leaflets and my wife had a personal green letter.

Harrogate is doing intensive canvassing as it's potentially a marginal seat (though the LDs haven't done that well there for a while)

Though to state the obvious, if you're out when the canvassers visit you'll only get a leaflet at best...

We’re in a very marginal (currently Labour) seat. I’m surprised how little attention we’ve seen so far

Found out today, my dad who has lived in the Midlands his whole life and whose parents are from Ireland, is a card carrying SNP member.

To be honest, I'm from northumberland and they would have my vote if it was possible. They have an actual leader who you feel you can get behind. Just reflects even more how much labour have lost out by not having a credible "leader" (as much as I do like corbyn).

Chrisull, that's not correct re Kensington. Not sure what the polling is but Labour won by 20 votes from the Tories in 2017. We've had huge quantities of mail from the main 3 parties but the LibDems don't have the numbers to win. I'm cross that they've put such a high profile candidate in. Sam Gymah may be a good MP but he's just going to split the remain vote here.

Sorry yes I meant held by Labour - it's Emma Dent Coad - was just thinking the Tories would win it. Gyimah will split the remain vote sadly. I had given up hope and then I see polls like this:

General Savanta-ComRes - the non prompting of candidates poll (there is a prompting one with an 8% lead for the Tories also done by ComRes), but still both are hovering around the hung Parliament territory.
CON: 42% (-)
LAB: 36% (+4)
LDEM: 11% (-1)
BREX: 4% (+1)
GRN: 2% (-1)
, 02 - 05 Dec

and:
Guildford - Delta Poll

LDEM: 41% (+17)
CON: 40% (-15)
LAB: 11% (-8)
IND: (A. Milton): 7% (+7)

The second is a clear tactical voting kind of place.

Why is Guildford a tactical voting kind of place?

As previously mentioned, my local constituency is now a straightforward red/blue marginal (Lab 48%: Con 46%: LD 4% in the last election). Lots of leaflets from all and sundry, including BXP yesterday - and a lot of paper from the Tories - but no canvassers apart from Labour 10 days ago. (no non-Royal Mail leaflet drops either). Looks like the Tories don't have much of a local ground game - apparently, their membership base here is almost exclusively 65+, which won't help them when it's soggy or frosty out...

I'm hoping the Tories knock on my door but I think after last time when I told them that they had ruined the country (may have used the F-word as well!) and that I would never vote for them that I may have scared them off ;-)
