I usually look at the age cat record and if I can get close I'll try to. I set out with a time in mind and generally run hard. Each to their own I like the mix of competitive and non competitive runners, it's the beauty of parkrun

Charming message just out from a Scottish parkrun that they are cancelling runs a month in advance if they don't have their volunteer slots filled. Merry Christmas all.

My sympathies are entirely with the people on the ground trying to make the event happen. The fact they’ve had to resort to something like this suggests they’ve exhausted a great deal of other options.
