Well it all happened this morning! Two separate unaccompanied under 11’s, a funnel ducker and a funnel queue jumper. All of them experienced parkrunners who should have known better

Holyrood course pb for me today :-). It’s. I e to have a new course on a challenging route that I can measure against attainable times.

At the star5 t they did say they had issues with volunteers though

Thanks LR. About to go and see for myself!

Entertaining morning at Southall parkrun. Parked a couple of miles away and jogged over to the park. Was in good time to go to the 1st timers briefing where I thought I paid proper attention :-0

Was then just finishing my warm-up when I managed to turn my ankle on one of those super-dangerous conkers. Thankfully, I only had a couple of mins before the start so just got on with it.

Small field and I was quite a long way ahead after 400m or so where I predictably went the wrong way at the roundabout the 1st time, face palm! Turned round, slowed down and decided to wait for someone to follow round a couple of laps. Did that and then cruised in as they slowed down. Not quite the time I wanted but the turns are too tight to run fast time there tbh.

Jogged back to the car and was rewarded with a beautiful up-close kingfisher siting on the canal.

Eventful morning out!

Southall reminded me a lot of what parkrun used to be like. Small, suuuuuper friendly and fun with smiling volunteers everywhere. Really nice, recommend it.

He does like to milk the applause, ton-up for my lad. Really nice to have a load of his club mates round too to cheer him through, and the RD and team were very supportive also - as you'd expect.

Picked up a copy of the parkrun magazine too, noting a two page spread on Jake Wightman. Who says parkrun doesn't support fast runners?
