Bonners’ post seemed pretty mild and innocuous to me in the context of the persistently obnoxious trolling that provoked it. Still, it’s not my forum.

Forum moderation is hard. Best thing for most of us is to simply ignore the trolling. I can imagine what Bonners may have posted and if my sense is correct then post removal is probably appropriate, but there is definitely an increased issue with some posters just posting to get a rise out of others (some would say I've gone close to that mark in the past). Would be great to have an ignore option so that we can simply blank out posters who we know we never want to read; for me that would certainly apply to Zorba and I will make a conscious effort to completely ignore him from this point onwards. |

After what happened to me, I'd love an ignore option.

The trouble with ignore is that it's relatively easy to start a new account. There was someone who I thought was trolling the politics thread for some years, who left and has rejoined under a new name (and seemingly a change in both behaviour and politics, although it's clearly the same person). Better to just not argue on the internet with people you don't know, in the same way you wouldn't usually engage with strangers shouting nonsense in real life unless they obviously need help. Of course, I don't always take my own advice. |

Berkeley Green today. What a hoot! I dont think I have laughed and smiled my way around a parkrun so much. The volunteers are fabulous. I particularly loved the guy with the blow up guitar playing 60's hits with his well decorated car. Being remote from residential areas has its benefit. The music at the start was also very motivating. It was great to see loads of Welsh parkrunners getting their fix on the English side of the border. Nice refreshments too.

Hm, I wonder who you mean. I have had a nagging suspicion about one poster but I think my suspicion is off the mark. I think the benchmark we should apply is would we say to someone’s face what we say in writing. If not don’t post it. I know I don’t always meet these criteria though and also there is a risk the written word comes across in a way that wasn’t intended Whilst many would have agreed with bonners post that was removed it probably failed the above test. |

Rather cold and windy at Aberdeen parkrun today- glad I wasn’t volunteering and grateful as ever for the volunteers standing out in that!
