Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

I have a sneaky suspicion that for most runners, their 'B' course is quicker than their 'A' course. I thought the B was meant to be intentionally harder so as not to give out PBs which are much harder to get because the B course may be run so rarely. The only one I’ve done with a B course is Tees Barrage which is about 200m longer for example.

That's a relatively recent semi rule from HQ, there is likely to be plenty of B courses which were invented long before that idea was come up with.

Oh right. I did Tees Barrage B course (before I did their A course even!) in 2015 and thought it was about then.

That is why I mentioned it :)

I did the first one at Torbay back on NYE 2016 (where has that time gone!) and in the early days I remember people saying they wished it could have been 3 laps of the track from the start, for those who would like a quicker time.

Oh, I wasn't expecting the chance to meet another fetchie at Rothay! Yes everyone else was well behaved, it certainly wasn't a course for racing. I'm sure on a brighter morning it would be a lovely site though a drizzly November morning wasn't the most inspiring. Happy to have got out for some exercise before the rain really set in though.

Ayr also has a slightly twisty two-way section - with mud and roots! - but not as congested or narrow as Rothay.

Can't currently see how I am doing with the stopwatch bingo (or any of the other challenges) but I have noticed that I now have an 'M' for the alphabeteer (since Bakewell has been renamed Monsal Trail) [I've not lost B either - my home parkrun is Beeston]

I’ve still got one number to go in stopwatch bingo after 305 parkruns. You can’t hurry these things ( well I know you can but I'm not cheating! )

Alton Water inaugural for me today - along with 179 other people! I am allowed to do this inaugural as it's practically at the end of my road and I'm on the core team!
