Mickle Hill parkrun #3. 25:05 and a PB by 48 seconds. 😊 I came first in a field of one, as I couldn't get my teenage son out of bed. It was a bloody hard run, but then a PB should be I guess.

I was a tourist today as I couldn't face a long run due to a niggly hamstring. PB from previous week of 8 seconds. A couple of other runners on the course but way faster than me so never caught them up. Few walkers out today as well but with no tailwalker to be seen I've no idea what time they will finish.

I'm sure I'm not the only person doing my 'fake parkrun' route as a fake parkrun. A 900m track around the rec. The only barrier to it for me was getting bored doing a five-and-a-bit-lapper on my own. Now I'm used to it.

Late to the fake parkrun party. The course guide (me) thought it was uphill for the first 2km. In fact it was uphill for 3km! 300 feet of uphill is quite a challenge.
Will remember it for next week.
Didn't think much of the support en route, complete lack of high fives though a dog did wee in my direction.

Hopefully many of those with an addiction to parkrun will discover that they can just pop out for a run. Anytime Anywhere. Wouldn’t be surprised if numbers actually fell if and when the authorities and land owners allow organised events to resume as there might be a drop off in those who lose the habit and have turned to other pleasures on a Saturday morning.
Certainly hope that there isn’t a huge ‘ hey were back’ restart as many venues will have reverted back to normal traffic flow for many months. A fanfare blazing restart could easily backfire.

Bexley, I rather think it will be the latter as many of us go to parkrun for the catch coffee and cake after parkrun as much for the run itself and it's certainly something I can't wait to get back to.

The organiser today was very slack about marking the finish line, so I overran. Calculation suggests that my time over 3.15m was 28:25 - a bit slower than last week, but I did stop to check my shoe at one point before realising the smell came from up ahead where someone was cleaning up after their Labrador. One nice thing about Fake Parkrun: course changes whenever you like.

Yes - I changed my finish to avoid a road crossing.
