Thanks everyone.

More problems. There doesn't appear to be any emails from volunteers. Just spotted an email though, from someone in parkrun towers, stating that there is a technical glitch getting volunteer emails crossed over from the old email address to the new one.

I'm the volunteer coordinator on Saturday. Looks like I'll be writing the volunteers names down if it's not fixed by Friday night.

I've seen a few more calls than usual on Facebook for volunteers being made by the various events I follow. There is always some last minute calls, but does seem to be more empty rosters than normal.

Our roster looks OK - I'm not RD this week but haven't seen any queries from the RD to the core team.

Just to muddy the waters, the problem I posted about earlier seems to fixed. Ive now got emails from volunteers showing up on the new gmail system.

I'm hoping someone out there in Fetch land can help me with my next problem?

I emailed our run director yesterday about volunteer emails & office emails appearing in the same inbox. He said that if I typed "so & so" helpers in the search box, I would get all the volunteer emails only. I tried this, but I only got volunteer emails that I'd already replied to, not new offers of help from volunteers.

I'm not on the committee & I'm not interested if "x" or "y" runner's time is out by two seconds from the previous week, I'm just interested in volunteers for the following weeks parkrun.

Is there any way to separate the two? It's a waste of my time scrolling through emails that aren't really anything to do with me.

From frustrated on the South Coast.

The etiquette we have in our inbox is if you’re not RD and you read an email you have to set it back to unread so the RD knows it’s new. If an email comes in for our DoE co-coordinator then it’s moved to the DoE folder and marked as unread. Perhaps you could do something similar. The RD for this week moves emails for you from the inbox to a 'volunteer' folder and you only have to look in there?

I never access the emails. That's the preserve of the VC and ED, and I'm neither.

Bob!
Yes, use folders for the relevant people ensuring anything for anyone else is marked as unread.

Once again, thanks for your help everyone, especially chunkywizard & Bob.

The trouble is, using the old system, I just logged into the helpers website & got all of the volunteer emails. To be honest, I don't want to muck about moving emails to different folders.

Aaaarrggghhh. I'll give it time, but I think my day's may be numbered sorting out the volunteer rosters. Time for someone younger to take over I'm afraid. Old codgers like me are getting left behind.

I’m confused. We always had all the emails going into the same inbox, regardless of which email address they were sent to.

There must be a way of filtering automatically to copy volunteer emails to another folder for the attention of a VC.
