Running buggy? I’m a 26-28 minute runner without depending how I’m feeling and around 30 for a leisurely buggy run.

Some (Burnham & Highbridge/Gloucester City) I’m confident starting near the back as a relatively large amount of the early course has grass embankments/is just flat so I can go up and past the 4-wide groups who start far too close to the front and run slowly from the start.

It is incredibly difficult & frustrating to pass on thin narrow paths (Longrun Meadow as an example) coming from the rear ... frustrating because you have to edge out and line up the pass, making sure you also aren’t blocking anyone behind you. If you aren’t familiar with the route this can be a bit of a gamble.

Like most people, having run numerous runs without a buggy it is so much easier to go past and round a buggy going slower.

Oh and PDG? I was concerned the comments about queues on NYD were mine but I realised I commented on the stats group. Just found the post from a Mr Moore ... blimey, that edit he’s put in certainly doesn’t backtrack enough on being a tool!

I think we had a high-placing buggy back in the summer, a super-fast guy who would usually win easily. Sub-19 on a hilly course could have been fun for the passenger. We’re not huge so there's room enough for buggies to find their space.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
I was beaten easily by a buggy when I ran my all time parkrun PB. And I'm fairly quick.

My current dog is a total nightmare for barking during the run brief, and a joy to run with (fast, obedient and easy to 'steer'). So we start either way off to the side in an open start area, or way to the back. If this is not possible she stays in the car (as I don't have the luxury of an event I can run or cycle to).

I think it is very non-inclusive that some people are faster than others, the only inclusive response to this is to ban fast people.

Saint, that's ridiculous. All you have to do is get everyone to run at the average pace of the event.

No that wouldn't work, because then some people would get higher age-grades and make those with lower age-grades feel excluded
