Walsall is my home run, and I think it is great. On paper it is not quite as fast as Wolvo as it has more sharp turns, but the elevation changes seem kinder. Three laps, and if you are running it in 17 minutes you will need to overtake everybody running >24 minutes, probably while they themselves are busy racing. I won't be there this week, I'm hoping to find a parkrun up in Glasgow. |

If anyone was thinking of touristing to Tewkesbury, it's flooded off again - apparently the worst floods since the parkrun started there

Yep, amongst others. Might need to keep an eye on this for a few more weeks! parkrun.org.uk |

Hopefully the Scottish ones will be able to proceed en masse this week: it would be nice to have a full house. Weather looks no worse than a bit wet. There is the possibility of two or three being waterlogged though. And I am getting my annual volunteer duty* out of the way, so won't be running any. *Yes, I wrote duty. I think parkrun HQ is decidedly wishy-washy over this. I don't think volunteering is awful, but I'd nearly always rather be running. But parkrun relies on volunteers, so I take a turn. Not that often, but if everyone did the same, it would be more than more than enough. |

Having been a late starter at volunteering, I've been enjoying it even more than running. But this weekend I'm going time-trialling at Workington provided the forecast 40+mph winds nudge along a few hours in one direction or another and don't co-incide with parkrun.

Walsall is a bit twisty in parts but definitely fast and flat - as long as you dont get caught up at the start.
