Our core team have all done CPR/Defib training, either for work or with the DVD and dummies we had provided with the Defib, but HQ tell me that at every incident at parkrun where the defib's been used there's been a running or volling medical professional on scene very quickly so the team don't really have to be trained...except that we wouldn't want an RD to be standing there with the defib and have no idea what to do until someone who does know arrives so best that they've done the course.

Could you add me please, @HellsBells

An event at a nearby parkrun a couple of months ago sparked a review of our own safety procedures. Always good to see others thoughts.

Just writing now but I got to our casualty within a minute of him going down by which point he already had 3 GP’s, a neuroradiologist, an obstetrician, 2 nurses and a vet looking after him!

sorry but lol at the vet! Our parkrun also heavily features NHS workers (not sure about vets though!)

If I were to have a medical event somewhere, I could think of worse places than a parkrun. I’ve seen some amazing examples of responses. Would appreciate being added too please @HellsBells

When we had our AED training the guy said that an airport was a “good” place to have a heart attack as they generally have a lot of AEDs available.

Or club has a group of new runners graduating their couch to 5k so it will be club vests on and go for a jog with them. Sandhurst for me this week.
