Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

There was no song at Weymouth last Saturday. You might be ok for a few weeks yet.

Another Frimley parkrun today as my local, Sandhurst, restarts next week. Shame we're away on hols when it starts but we shall be near new ones. I might get to do the notoriously pretty Fountains Abbey for a holiday parkrun.

I've been given a bonus week off next week by my soon-to-be co-ED.

Trying to decide whether to stick with my own event, or do Doddington Hall, Peterpan or Hull.

(If I was into that sort of thing, I'd make the observation that I've not yet done a D or a P, but I've done two H events - Hasenheide and Humber Bridge)

What's your most beautiful/scenic parkrun visited? We did Fountains Abbey parkrun while on holiday. It was glorious going round the abbey ruins and two different ways round the water gardens. It is all on tarmac paths, which I found really useful as I wasn't looking where I was going but having at the views. 😀

I know that it’s nowhere close to being as lovely as Fountains Abbey, but there are some great views of the parkland and over the city on the downhill/return leg at Ashton Court.

Whinlatter. Also the lowest PB potential of all the parkruns I've done.

Not to be deliberately contrary but I was disappointed with Fountains as an event. The course was pretty enough in places, but not much different to a number of other historic grounds visited on parkrun travels.

I may have enjoyed it more if the atmosphere on the day had been different. There was a feeling of the having to 'get out' as soon you'd crossed the line and that you should feel honoured to have been allowed to run there. Not particularly welcoming was the overall impression.

Soooooo looking forward to visiting Whinlatter as will be there this Saturday ....
