@solo88 : Hopefully! I was taken by surprise and JB asked questions whilst we were running! I was particularly unfit, recovering from yet another injury, or possibly COVID; can't remember! |

Great videos Hilly. WP, good to see you getting more miles on the clock at last. Still haven't got my head around how the 'AlterG' works, alehouse. Vertical air velocity? OK, answered by web search. So in effect splits weight carrying between the feet and waist. Not quite what I was trying to imagine! Solid long run effort solo. TS. It was the last of the large trees we 'trimmed' over the last few months. About 10 - 15m high with a ~500mm dia trunk, the residual of which is buried under the chips to the left of the area I was working on. A local tree type with a very extensive shallow root system. Had grown so much it was starting to damage the concrete retaining wall. Sensible consolidation walk/run, hopefully allowing knee to settle. All the best for your 10k race this evening OO61. Moderate 8.3 km this morning, with uptick in pace over the last 1.3 km (~50 mins, HR 125/142). Calves still felt stiff beforehand but leg no problems during the run. Not so great news yesterday from a scheduled hospital telehealth call (1st ever telehealth call!). I had a colonoscopy ~3 months ago that was essentially all clear and assumed the call was follow up to that; ie. ... so what next? Alas turns out I have a pancreas issue and now need to be on Creon. A bit out of left field. They had arranged a sample to be tested 5 months ago - so long ago I had completely forgotten about it. So much for the NZ public health service. They have been sitting on the result for the last 5 months! Five months to spare a junior doctor to make a less than 7 minute call to inform me of the results. I am not certain if she even said exactly what it is - just that she was emailing a prescription through to my local pharmacy, and would email a letter to me and my GP. So far have very few details as a day and a half later still no email. Have arranged an appointment with GP on Thur to find out more details. Hopefully the hospital email arrives before then or both the GP and I will be in the dark. Now started on the Creon - at least the prescription was sent through promptly. |

NZD it's good you have a diagnosis at least and some medicine- take care 👍 I assume they might contact you more urgently if it was very serious?

Hope you get some clarification, @NZD. Doesn't seem to be affecting your daily life, not least the very physical gardening, or running. re AlterG, I don't even attempt to get my head around how it works! Just pleased that it does, or rather did. Will have another try to find one that is up and running! Wordle in an annoying six, with four letters in place after three. |

A good day and dry for a round of Blencathra yesterday followed by coffee shop in Threlkeld. Run around Derwent Water planned for this morning, dry so far but not forecast to stay that way. Sounding positive @alehouse |

alehouse - thanks for the treadmill information. You sound like you're making steady progress. Can you walk far? Haha the vlog...I'm sure we'll be over your way again soon with a camera...😁 NZD -.do you use a foam roller or massage gun on your calves? Hopefully the medication will sort out the issue although for you it would be good to know the exact issue... PeterFay- sounds a nice run planned! Having a cut back week as I have England Masters 5k at Mid Cheshire on Friday evening and going to try to arrive with fresh legs. I find it hard to back off my miles especially when marathon training, but I bagged another 70 miles last week. Holiday travel all done now too so this week should be a normal steady, but that would normally be a time to get in marathon miles... Weather a lot cooler today. No sunshine. 👎 |

alehouse - I didn't get Wordle. I started with 1 letter in correct place, then 2, then 3, then 4, and with just one letter to fit in the right place and two options I chose the wrong one! Grr...
