I see we now have to look out for the additional hazard of being interviewed & filmed whilst out running ![]() NZD That very late diagnosis is a bummer!! Have you had any symptoms such as loss of weight with it or is it just one of these issues that crop up when detailed examinations take place? Didn't stop a decent run this morning Sounds the sort of tree not to have in one's garden! @PeterFay well done on the Blencathra round - and it staying dry! When first married we use to rent a cottage on a farm in Threlkeld and Blencathra always loomed large in the views and routes from there. Spent many a night drying out in front of a wood burning open range fire. Last time we called in a few years back the cottage had been turned into a golf clubhouse! @Hilly a cut back week is no bad thing to build into a high mileage training plan - recovery is where the benefit accrue - particularly with such a high profile race coming up. Special treat yesterday - after a BBQ at my son's house, and some social drinking, my g'daughter gave us a lift home after her newly passed driving test ![]() Wordle in a smug four this morning |

Today was not dry. I wussed out after 3.5m of seriously flooded paths. The alternative was a narrow windy busy B road. Caught the bus back.

Go away Wordle smuggers...😅😅 TS - yes, I agree with cut back weeks being good in marathon training. It's just me...I'm a do as I say but not as I do...😅 But cut back week I am having. Lol the filming...We do ask so don't believe everything alehouse and Solo say...😆 Did 6 miles this morning with a few random fartlek type surges. WP - 3lbs isn't much to lose. Although I could do with losing about the same for Chester and I never seem to lose anything! I think my body is so efficient at using the energy and high amount of exercise it has I'd have to shock it to get any weight loss... Hard to do...How do you go about losing weight? |

You have done amazingly with weight loss this year @Welshpoppy ! A three pound gain over your recent illness is pretty good going. Enjoy your PT session and .....I found some of my trainers on Vinted 😁 They have been used but not for running and look good 🤞 @NZD that must have been a bit of a shock after such a long time. Hopefully you will feel reassured when you speak to the GP. @Torque Steer I think that is so lovely, your granddaughter driving you home 😊 Hope you find the cut back week beneficial @Hilly I am a complete advocate of regular rest and cut back weeks. @PeterFay I think I would wussed out sooner. I keep forgetting everyone isn't having the good weather like here! A complete nothing day for me. Legs are definitely asking for a rest. Wordle in six. Phew. |

I feel a fraud in this thread. Confession: I have never done Wordle (but just completed Guardian Quick Crossword) |

No problems, @PeterFay. Ditto being a Wordle virgin here (& not planning to change that)! 😁

Hmm, seems to be a few familiar faces here. From a while back. Still running, if you count a dogged determination to continue parkruns if nothing else. But attempting an informal half mara on Sunday. I have absolutely no intention of telling you how lone it takes me supposing I actually get round. But good to see that so many of you are still running. |
