Now ensconced in lounge at Heathrow - for the next 7 hours! Not sure if miles of walking around airports counts as xtraining! Fortunate I do have FC lounge access otherwise would be sitting out 'in the cold' for another 3 hours before I could check in.

Alas have not exceeded in the 'resist temptation' department so far. Not ultra bad but not great either ☹️. Four younger work colleagues/clients/travel companions to blame of course (two of them also doing the HM on Sunday). Must try harder!

Will be back through London two more times next week. On 21st for a day and a half, then 23 - 25 Jan. Just a little flittering(?) around!

@NZD just think of the air miles :-)

Good delivery service for your new shoes - you could do a few miles around the terminal in them whilst waiting!

@Welshpoppy oh dear, not another infection - you have had a bad time with them of late - take care.

@OO61 just as well Coe ran them before strava and Garmin tracked intervals - just think of all the broken bodies trying to emulate his times :-)

Double session on a sore knee !!

Thanks - yup good news all round on the medical front - my eye sessions with the sharp needle have been stretched out to 16 weeks now on improved results and the melanoma check up is a similar timescale for the next three years. Just need to get my thyroid levels sorted - oh and my knee :-)

Went out last night and was considerably overdressed for the very mild temperatures. Occasional icy patches that were difficult to spot but a run to the pub meeting point (all downhill!!) and then 3 miles around town gave me 4 miles.

Refreshed with some Hemsley Striding the Riding IPA and then a mile walk home - still very mild unde the wolf moon.

Similar conditions this morning as I did 3 miles in a leisurely 35 min with HR 124/140 - legs need re-accustoming to running!

extra quiet here ?

Had an early morning appointment so didn't manage a run until lunchtime - don't know if that was the difference but it felt very different even if the stats weren't.

Glorious sunshine , clear blue skies and 3 miles done in 32:45 with HR 132/147 as I put a bit of effort into it - but not too much:-)

Obviously inspired by the Toon's long run of victories, which however, may be under some threat this Saturday - but for the moment ... :-)

Great news re eye jabs @Torque Steer. And clocking up consistent miles.

Easy 4.6 km at 6:07/km pace with UK running pal here in Bermuda this morning before meetings. New race shoes very comfortable but will likely use trainers tomorrow (weather obliging). Bit expensive using the race shoes for training runs.

Forcast warm (20C), wet and windy for Sunday race ☹️.

@NZD - don't like the sound of the windy bit for Sunday

How many miles do you get out of your super shoes?

20C her would help with the final few icy patches, one of which I found as I went round a left hand corner and nearly bumped into a pram!. Did a sharp sidestep, old rugby trait, and promptly put my foot on the only icy patch within 100m :-(
Knee didn't like it so I had a walk for 200m or so, but it was at the beginning of my final mile, in a 4 mile run in 46 min including the walk bit. HR was 128/152 as I pushed on over the last half mile so hopefully no damage long term.
Felt quite good apart from that incident...

Wordle in three yesterday, but only just scraped in today.

Hope the knee is ok, @Torque Steer! Decent time on your feet!

Worked on Wednesday, so 20 minutes after; yesterday short run in the morning, then had a meeting at Old Trafford Cricket Club, so run to the tram, run from the tram and the revers, so another 20 minutes; today was a further 20 minutes. It was my first real opportunity to see the flood damage...once I had scrambled through up-rooted trees and other debris. The river bank has around fifty metres missing so that will need a major and urgent repair before the river rises significantly again. Water on the rugby fields at the end of my road is still over a metre deep...and adjacent you can't actually tell that until New Year's Eve there were actually any allotments, given the devastation.

Hope all goes well on Sunday, @NZD !

@alehouse - that was a very split session sequence of runs!

Wow -the floodwater is shifting only slowly - is there more coming down with the snow melt? Guess you won't be running that way for a while!!

@NZD all the best for Sunday - at least you are acclimatised for warmer temperatures - if not for wind and rain.

Rest day tomorrow - well apart from a list of jobs lined up for me by Mrs TS :-(
The trickiest will be the lounge door where the 120 year old screws and screw holes for the hinges to the door frame have finally loosened off as timbers have slowly shrunk and the heavy door has dropped and is binding on the frame.

So it's take the screws out, cut taper dowels and glue them into the old screw holes, then, when dry put screws back in.
Doesn't sound much but its probably an all dayer!!

At present the river is remarkably low, @Torque Steer, which is more than can be said for the flood plain.

And I also have a door problem: following the extension none of the doors now fit! The may have swollen during the months of cold and damp so am leaving them for now. Or the whole house has moved by half a centimetre!

Good luck NZD sounds fantastic.
Sorry to hear your house woes Alehouse. My daughter's house in Didsbury is now on the market. Having helped with the DIY, I've now moved on to the Tynemouth house, getting in ready for their arrival in February. Should find time for parkrun though.
