I recently had arranged with a southern member of the family to visit and she told me she'd be with us by Dinnertime. I didn't think to ask what she meant, as she used to be northern so I assumed she meant before 1pm. Until the big day arrived and I was suddenly unsure if she meant lunchtime or tea time. She rocked up at about 6pm.

Dinner time is 1pm. Teatime 6pm, or 5pm if you’re hungry

If you have your dinner at lunchtime, you're going to be starving by tea time, sorry, I mean proper dinner time, and you'll have to have an early supper.
