It's not even that unpleasant.... Must book that exciting prostate check too - running the numbers as per the Risk Checker on prostatecanceruk.org , but the bigger challenge is actually getting a GP "non-emergency" appointment. Not something you can do for yourself! |

My mum had bowel cancer diagnosed just a couple of weeks before she died. She must have had symptoms that she ignored, probably for a long time. Very sad. I was very pleased to receive my poo kit last year and made good use of it. It's hereditary - my nana (mum's mum) was also diagnosed with it - so I'm taking no chances.

Having worked in a hospital laboratory and read a lot about science and pathology, I have no doubt that these types of tests are worthwhile.

Mr F has had his poo kit for months now and not done it yet. I keep nagging him but he keeps saying he forgot. He needs a slap.

My MiL has bowel cancer on her death certificate and neither her family nor her carers had any idea she was suffering with it 🤷♂️😢

GM also my mum admitted to hospital and 3 weeks later thereabouts she died. I think people think they'll be OK and don't want to make a fuss |

What’s scarier: having a camera stuck up your backside, or dying a horrible death? Please do your tests and get your loved ones to do theirs. It’s not like you don’t have to poo anyway |

Mammogram 3weeks ago and negative result. It's not a guarantee but I do like to stack the odds in my favour.

I am of the belief that if I am offered a test I will take it. Was lucky that was called early for mammogram, same with the poo stick - why wouldn't I accept them?
