I'm not diving for the turmeric yet. Curcumin could turn out to be the new glucosamine. But there's no reason to believe it isn't safe.

I've not seen any proper evidence on turmeric. In any case, it's the circumin that's the relevant ingredient and it has to be delivered via oil to absorb. Frying is good.

I'm still (on physio's advice) taking ibuprofen c. half hour before I go on court.

Perhaps I'll just have to increase my greasy curry intake, then, GlennR.

Good elbow news there, GregP.

And an interesting possible purchase, DQ, may well invest in something like that.

The rheumatologist told me to take ibuprofen. I'm supposed to avoid it because of the asthma, but his attitude was simply to keep my inhaler handy.

Only a small percentage of people with asthma get wheezy with ibuprofen, and most of them are the highly atopic people with hay fever and skin problems and rhinitis.

Seems like your rheumatologist is the philosophical type Glenn :-) Mine is more reminiscent of a 60s school matron

DQ I wondered how that would help JK sleep ( the problems of trying to process two pieces of info in one post)

Thanks for all your comments re: glucosamine etc, particularly VRap's input. Kind of what I thought really and, as a Yorkie of a certain age, I don't like spending my money unnecessarily! Thankfully I rarely have trouble sleeping, so grateful for that :-)
