57.5 Degrees of Pain
I choose volume over intensity and love carbs. Better give up now!

Though I follow Jeff Galloway's rejection of stretching.

Does he? I have been diligent about post-run stretchingfor a good 18 months and find it feels helpful, in that I rarely have DOMS afterwards. But then, I might not have had them anyway even if I hadn't stretched.

Owlie, I was hopeless at all those things too. And didn't enjoy team games. The only thing I did like really was running.

Stretching - I've been fairly conscientious about post-run stretching since the physio I saw about my knee said it was important. Certainly if I don't stretch I seize up.

I've got Jeff Galloway's Run-Walk-Run, but didn't know he'd written a "Run until you're 100".

That goes straight onto my wishlist.

I also choose volume over intensity given the opportunity, will not be separated from my carbs, and haven't stretched for as long as I can remember.

I firmly believe that dynamic warm-up, activity, followed by stretching (AS NECESSARY) is a good habit to adopt.

However, as all training plans are fraudulent, adapt this for the individual.

If like V'Rap, you are an amazing athlete, without stretching post-activity, why start?

I always do dynamic stretching before a run or race, and static stretching after. I think this becomes more important, the older we are.

Columba I was hopeless at team sports preferred running though enjoyed table tennis and badminton

Did any of you play badminton but split into sides where you hit the shuttlecock then you had to run to the other side where you waited in a queue to hit it back. If you missed you were out. It got harder as more got out but it was fun

We did that, Night Owl, in badminton, tennis and table tennis.
