A friend of mine used to get chased by a pheasant which she christened the 'psycho pheasant'. She was sure it laid in wait for her because a couple of times she looked for it and couldn't see it .. then would hear the sound of it running along the path behind her. That mile split was definitely faster than the others ..

One of our local parkruns has added interest in the spring when a swam family get very protective about their babies where the route goes alongside a lake. You often see people ahead making mad, ungainly leaps to the left as Mr and Mrs Swan assert their authority.

Not plantar fasciitis, is it, WtnMel?

"Exit, pursued by a bird"

Another little 25-minute run done, all part of the C25K programme.

Masters athletics at Lee Valley Indoors for me today. I competed in Shot put, long jump and high jump.

Shot put was good considering the few probs I've had recently, high jump was ok for a 65 year old but not up to my usual standard. Long jump was three centimetres further than I jumped last year - not a PB but most acceptable.

To do one athletic discipline is great, but to throw thing AND throw yourself around is really impressive Sharkie 🙂

Excellent performance at the Masters Athletics Sharkie! I haven't high or long jumped since leaving school in the year dot.

I ran 14.11 miles in the forest yesterday with Sarah. That was the furthest I had run since my knee injury last June.

Well done Sharkie! I haven't high jumped since I was 13 when I broke my arm landing. It's one of my favorite events to watch along w/pole vaulting.

Good going hillstrider and Columba.
